Letter to the Tift County Community from Superintendent Natalie Gore.
At tonight’s meeting of the Tift County Board of Education, the board took action to place TCHS Principal, Dr. Chad Stone, on paid administrative leave for 30 days. The board took further action to not renew Dr. Stone’s contract. This decision came as a result of new information as part of an ongoing investigation.
The Board of Education is tasked with making decisions in the best interest of the students of Tift County Schools. District leadership will work to name a principal as soon as possible to ensure continuity of service to the students of Tift County High School.

Due to school being canceled on Tuesday, January 9th, the Work Session has been moved to Thursday, January 11th. The work session will begin at 6:00pm and will immediately be followed by the board meeting. #4theT
After meeting with Tift County EMA officials and out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to close all Tift County Schools on Tuesday, January 9th for all students and employees. #4theT
System administrators will meet with Tift County EMA for a weather briefing at 3:00pm this afternoon. If it is determined that there is a need to make a change to the school calendar we will notify everyone as soon as possible. #4theT
During a December 29, 2023 special called meeting of the Board of Education, Natalie Gore was approved as Superintendent of Tift County Schools. Mrs. Gore will begin meeting with district administrators next week and will assume full time duties on Tuesday, January 16th.

Tift County Schools will be closed for Christmas Holidays Monday, December 18th thru Tuesday, January 2nd. All staff members return on Wednesday, January 3rd and students return on Thursday, January 4th. #4theT

Tift County Schools is currently seeking applicants for a Varsity Head Football Coach at Tift County High School. We are looking for an individual with strong organizational, motivational, and disciplinary skills with a history of building successful 6-12 football programs. The candidate must have the ability to communicate and interact in a positive manner with students, parents, faculty, Booster Club members, and the community as a whole. The ability to work with multiple sport athletes is strongly desired. All applicants must have a proven track record of helping student-athletes obtain college scholarships.
