G. O. Bailey offers a general music program which is directed by a certified music teacher Mr. Brian Marchant. Music class is available to all children, Kindergarten through Fifth grade. All grade levels receive 1 hour of music at least once a week. Students are expected to participate in the activities and make use of the time to accomplish many objectives.

Music is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore their different gifts and talents. Music gives each child the opportunity to have fun, develop a positive attitude towards themselves, and gain an appreciation for music.

It is our goal at G. O. Bailey to see that each child develops:

• an appreciation of the arts and a love of music

• the ability to participate in the creative processes of music

• an understanding of musical symbols, terms, and basic music theory
