Pre-Kindergarten Registration Guidelines

READ ALL OF THIS INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FOR YOUR CHILD.

For the 2025-2026 school year, Pre-K classes will be in each of our eight elementary schools. Open enrollment will be held Feb. 18 for all in-county residents.

Pre-K slots at each elementary school will be filled in this order:

  1. Pre-K students with parents working at the zoned elementary school.

  2. In-county Pre-K students zoned for the elementary school on a first come/first served basis.

Registration is a two-step process. First, parents will need to complete the online portion of the registration. Once the application is complete, parents need to schedule an appointment and come to Central Registration (located at the Administrative Office 506 W 12th Street) to provide all required documents and finalize the application. 

Beginning March 17, 2025, registration will be open to all out of county residents. Parents will need to complete an out of county waiver and receive approval prior to completing the registration steps above. Out of county students will be placed at a school based on enrollment numbers on a first come/first served basis. 
The goal is to keep all Pre-K students in their assigned school zones. Once classes are filled at an elementary site, a waiting list will be started. If there are not enough Pre-K students to fill a class at an elementary school, we reserve the right to offer Pre-K enrollment at another school. Transportation will not be provided for out of zone students attending another location.  If a student is out of zone for Pre-K, the student will return to his/her zoned school for Kindergarten.

If a Pre-K student moves after registration and no spot is available at the student’s new school zone,  he/she may be granted a spot at another elementary school. However, the student will need to be transported by parents/guardians.

Advertisement is provided through social media, emails, call-outs, and postings at local school sites.

Additional Information:

  • If you receive any of the following services we will need a copy of the card (Food Stamps, Medicaid, TANF, SNAP, PeachCare, SSI or CAPS)

  • To be eligible for Pre-K for the 2025-2026 school year, your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025. (Birthdate must fall between September 2, 2021 - September 1, 2025)
