Who needs to visit Central Registration?

Any student new to Tift County Schools or any student that has withdrawn and attended another school and is returning to Tift County Schools.

What are the Age Requirements for enrolling a child in school?

PreK students MUST turn 4 years old ON or BEFORE September 1, 2024.

Kindergarten students MUST turn 5 years old ON or BEFORE September 1, 2024.

Do you accept Out of County Students?

Out of County Attendance Requests will be considered prior to the start of a new school year (May - July) for all grade levels and again in December for students in grades 9-12. High school students who are approved in December will start school in Tift County in January when the new semester begins.

*If your request is denied, please understand that there will be no appeal process. We may choose to revisit the request if the circumstances are significantly different than the time of the denial.

*Each year we will review the Behavior, Attendance and Grades for all approved out of county students. If any of these items do not remain in good standing, we reserve the right to deny enrollment for the following school term.

Will you consider a Hardship Request

All Tift County students must attend the school in the attendance zone in which they reside. In cases of SIGNIFICANT hardship, the district Hardship Committee may approve exceptions.

Lack of transportation is not considered a hardship. Tift County Schools provides free transportation to all students beyond a 1 - 1 1/2 mile radius of the zoned school. Examples of hardship include but are not limited to: DFACS, foster care, legal intervention, etc.

REQUESTS FOR CONVENIENCE WILL NOT BE GRANTED.

*If approved, parent must provide transportation to and from school. Your child should arrive in a timely manner and be picked up during the time specified by the school.
